I have visited the beautiful Indian Ocean lodge before (about 2 years ago) to shoot it and was back there this year to update their pictures. I was lucky enough to be there when the island celebrates Kreole festival – a wonderful local festival that celebrates their heritage and culture. I had a wonderful time photographing the festivities as well as some awesome new lifestyle shots with the lovely Nicole and her family.
My favourite things about Indian Ocean lodge are the people, the relaxed family environment and the food is always delicious but probably my favourite thing is the rooms. I adore their interior decorating, right up my alley, and the size of them compared to what you get in the Seychelles for a similar price is awesome value. Picture rustic wooden furniture, mixed with black and white photography decor, soft ocean colours and cocktails every evening while watching the sun go down behind Cousin island. The views every evening differ to what is happening with the clouds so you are up for a surprise every day and I must add that their situation gives some of the best sunsets I have seen.
