I recently had the opportunity to photograph three gorgeous camps in a private concession in the Kruger National Park – Camp Shonga, Camp Shawu and the main lodge Shishangeni.
Camp Shonga is a small intimate bush retreat built in the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains, offering awesome views. It is a magical place and is situated in what feels like the middle of nowhere. You are completely surrounded by nature and bush and to me it almost felt like you were in the Serengeti because of how secluded you felt. The luxury tents are all perched above a small valley and look out onto the plains, which only you can view.
If you are looking for something intimate, romantic and completely secluded yet still in the famous Kruger National Park, with excellent game viewing opportunities, this is your spot.
