In the beginning of this year I was lucky enough to visit Madagascar, a country I have been longing to go to for as long as I can remember! I was there to shoot Princess Bora lodge and spa on the small island off the east coast of Madagascar called Saint Marie. After arriving in Antananarivo, the capital, I had to take another plane to Tamatave, spend the night there and then get picked up the next day in the owner’s plane to be taken to the island. The flight to the small island was just stunning as I’m sure you can imagine but more on that later.
Princess Bora is a stunning place, close to the airport and luxurious and rustic at the same time. A perfect balance. They have 3 different types of rooms, a beautiful pool that looks over the ocean and a jetty surrounded by water fit for any type of party or just a relaxed drink. The food was delicious especially the wood fired pizzas you could choose on the menu if you didn’t feel like having a fancy but equally delicious meal of steak or fish. Apart from the obvious things to do there such as fishing, diving or just lazing about int he sun, you can visit the famous pirate cemetery, go on a quad bike trip around the island (which I enjoyed a lot!) or search for the beautiful specimens of chameleons found on the island.
I was working with a great team and I think the photos came out great. Special thanks to Claire, Mia, Arthur and Chiarra (my models) for all being so lovely!
